Watch Obama serenade a campaign rally with an Al Green song
By Virginia SmithJanuary 20th, 2012, 11:00 amComments (6)Not to be overshadowed by yet another contentious GOP debate, President Obama broke out some of the charm that got him elected in the first place last night, singing a few lines of Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" to a crowd at the Apollo theater in Harlem.
As a nod to Rev. Green, who was in the audience at the fundraiser alongside Spike Lee, Obama launched into the first line of the song, then joked that his campaign team "didn't think I was gonna do it," adding, "Don't worry, Rev. I cannot sing like you. But I wanted to show my appreciation."
So smooth! So dulcet! So much cooler than your average political speech! Will Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich retaliate by gracing crowds with their favorite Michael Bolton and Pat Boone jams, respectively? One can only hope.

Can I have a meme... with audio?
Flying to NY for a campaign rally after he spent the day at Disney? Nice to see how my tax dollars are being spent.
He would have played golf by his Texan ranch, but, you know. You wouldn't have liked that either.
his campaign funds fly him to a campaign events. I wish I had a dolla for every myth about Obama.
His campaign funds do NOT fly him to campaign events, except in a very small way - his campaign is on the hook for the equivalent of a couple of first class tickets. Rest assured that 99% of the cost of operating two 747s was borne by the taxpayer. You can keep a penny of the dollar for the myth you're trying to support.
Also, GWB stopped playing golf, among other things, in 2003 out of respect for those deployed in harm's way. And I'm no fan of GWB even though he was orders of magnitude better than BHO.
He should stick to his day job... oh wait, he's no good at that either.
Now you say something
