After fan outrage, NBC makes Wonder Woman costume slightly less like a sex outfit

Kelley's Wonder Woman remake, because while I am a comic-book nerd at my core, there were a lot of... less than promising signs. (A sing along to "Single Ladies"? Really?) And the most recent one was the costume, first revealed in a promo picture released by NBC. It looked like what you'd get if you asked a moderately priced hooker to impersonate the heroine while hog-tying you with her "lasso of truth":
Not promising, right? Well it seems like Kelley and NBC have reconsidered some of the outfits more ridiculous touches after the internet gave a collective "blergh" to the look, according to these new shots of star Adrianne Palicki in action:
Thank god the heels are gone, but here is the thing: Wonder Woman's costume will never not look ridiculous. That looks less like an item from Mistress Natasha's S&M closet, but it's still incredibly silly. This is why the X-Men lost their outfits when they got off the page: they look fucking dumb in real life! Give the girl some sturdy jeans and a leather jacket and call it a day.

I can't pass judgment on the new costume or the new actress until I have seen her run towards the camera in super-slo-mo.
Now I read elsewhere that Christina Hendricks was interested in the part. Picture that, boys...
ooooooo....I gotta go...er...do something!
I'll be in my bunk
Amen!
The X-Men do not look dumb in their real costumes - they look dumb in their faux Matrix outfits in those godawful movies.
I'm a die hard X-Men fan, anon, but their outfits -- and those of most superheroes, really -- have always been a bit too WWE to work off the page in my opinion. And I'm going to defend the first two movies; the third, though, was utterly terrible.
Would never work off the page; a lady can't fight crime in a top without straps.
Not even an Amazon feminist?
Not only is the outfit impractical and cheap looking, but this girl doesn't really look very Amazonian to me. She's gorgeous, but not exactly tough.
ditto
You know, DC Animation made the best Wonder Woman film a few years ago which basically told her origin. Why the powers that be never thought this story could translate to a live action film is beyond me.
And frankly, this tv show looks slightly better than Cavemen, but slightly worse than the reincarnation of Bionic Woman.
I think one of the new Wonder Woman's powers is the ability to run around in that thing without her boobs popping out.
Poor Adrianne - she must be taped within an inch of her little life to stay inside that corset. And I agree - she's lovely but not strong or tough enough for an Amazon Princess.
"Give the girl some sturdy jeans and a leather jacket and call it a day." Probably not a good idea. From a practical point of view, yes, but that is basically the costume comic book Wonder Woman has now. The nerdrage in response has been ridiculous (honestly, I rather like it, but apparently that makes me an idiot amongst comic fans). Giving tv WW the same outfit would cause instant, irrational hate from most of (what I assume to be) the intended demographic.
I don't know why they felt the need to change the costume.
She does not look like Wonder Woman, she looks like Wonder Girl.
Now you say something
