Summer fun for the rugged man and lithe woman in this series by German photographer Stefanie Schneider is All-American: from a church to a barn to a trailer to the front seat of an old car with bench seats, they're all over each other, aided in their sexual delirium by a few palm trees, some booze and a revolver. Schneider's photos are pure road-trip dreamscape, evocative of old Polaroid film or Super 8 footage. The sunlight coming through the thin curtains of the trailer is either pink or blue; in the midst of the yellow-hued countryside, that red-fringed nightie is the whitest white. The series certainly captures the best part of any road trip dream: drinking Jack Daniels naked, then falling asleep on the driver's strong shoulder. — Ada Calhoun
