Jake Gyllenhaal Will Be Your Music Video Whore, If You Want Him
By James Brady RyanFebruary 19th, 2010, 5:35 pmComments (4)Last time, it was for Jamie Foxx. This time, it's for Vampire Weekend's "Giving Up the Gun." With appearances by Joe Jonas, Lil Jon, RZA, and a svelte young female tennis player.
The full video - which I actually enjoyed, unlike "Blame It (On the Roofies)" - is at the bottom, but as usual, I'm going to offer you some highlights beforehand.
First things first - hi there, RZA! It's always good to have an experienced and impartial ref when playing futuristic dream tennis.
Then comes the floppy hairiest of the JoBros, Joe! Is it bad to admit that I'm kind of charmed by his snooty, "I am a douchebag" face in this screen shot?
When I said Jake will be your music video whore, I wasn't kidding. Here he is, showing off his perfect pair of male stripper pants:
And here is the cute young tennis player, responding in the only appropriate manner to such a sight:
And finally, we get a WASP-ified Lil Jon as the girl's tennis coach. Speaking with French subtitles.
What? Okay!

It's a funny video.
I got to see Jake in person a couple years ago... I have got to say... that man can be in ANYTHING he wants to be in, just so long as I can continue to see him on a fairly regular basis. Mmmhmm.
I'd wrestle with Jake...
Ooo. Are Vampire Weekend becoming the Ricky Gervaise of music? I.E. They can get anyone they want to be in their videos by virtue of being VW?
Now you say something
