Yesterday on a plane I sat next to a college student who was listening to Stryper and whose backpack was completely covered with messages about salvation and the rapture. I couldn't keep my eyes off her bright red abstinence button. In fact, I decided to steal it. But the guy on my other side — who was preparing a PowerPoint demonstration on Botox — saw me fondling her luggage. Busted, I opted to ask for the button directly, and in my anxiety I inadvertently quoted a line from "One Lucky Fan," the third film of our Atom Films team-up. "Pardon me," I said. "You have such a cool button. It reminds me of 'how sick I'm getting with all those endless nights of sex and partying.'" Hooksexup spoke with Michael Mohan, who with Chris "The Goods" Goodwin, created this Paris Hilton parody. — Jason Wishnow

What was your inspiration for "One Lucky Fan"?
It seems like the only way for Paris Hilton to stay in the spotlight is to stay in the spotlight. It's got to be hard, because the general public is just waiting for the next new thing to take her place. In 1991 we had the Electric Slide. In 2005 we have Paris Hilton.

How did you make your film?
Atom Films had distributed a few other shorts of mine, and they actually commissioned this one for a tiny budget. So we combined their budget with that of a music video we were doing and shot them all in the same weekend. We shot "One Lucky Fan" during the day, and shot the music video for The One AM Radio at night. And since we had already rented gear, we also shot a series of spec commercials too. I was just beat when I got to my day job Monday morning.

Any catastrophes?

The only trouble we had was making sure that the double-sided tape worked on our starlet, April Gilbert, so her dress and jacket didn't fly open.

How have people responded to it?
From the time Atom Films gave us the go-ahead, we had basically five weeks to write/cast/shoot/edit it. And then two weeks later it was up on the site.  So we churned it out pretty quick.  This user review sums it up best:

How do you spend your time when you're not in a limo?
By day I work for the Sundance Institute. I've also made a series of experimental films called "You Can Awesome" and another short called "Initiation" which are going around the festival circuit. My film "Trick" is also on Atom Films. Other than that, just looking for the next project.  Most of the funding for my films comes from actors who are trying to build up a reel, or want the perfect piece of tape that shows their skills. I often write and direct something around the actor, hoping to make something that not only showcases them, but allows me to experiment in ways I wouldn't normally be able to. So if anyone reading this fits the bill — I'm always reachable at .

Check back every Monday for a different film, filmmaker, or filmsite profile. To recommend a short movie, email . Jason Wishnow needs a new bio. If you'd like to write it for him, please email .
