The Weekly Pic
by Jason Wishnow

Late last year, a short video of two people having sex in a fancy hotel room appeared online. Several websites linked to it, mistaking it for a celebrity sex tape. The celebrity in question was, in fact, a four-piece band from New York called LEVY, who decided to generate some free publicity by shooting the simulated sex scene and posting it on the internet, with their song "On the Dance Floor" playing in the background. The video is preceded by a title card claiming that what you're about to see went on for two days (which, though deceptive, was true — the video, directed by Jason Kohn, took two days to shoot). Shortly after it showed up, however, the video disappeared again, only to resurface a few weeks after that. This time, someone mirrored it on YOUTUBE, and the band eventually claimed ownership and streamed it on its website.
