Calling All Wannabe Patrons of the Arts

Posted by Nicole Pasulka

Brooklyn-based artist James J. Williams III is selling off piles of random crap from his apartment.

This is "The Goodbye Box." Retailing for $100, items include:

  • One (1) VHS of “Kissing a Fool” left at 586 Dean by Mollie Sue Steenis when she moved back to Florida.
  • One (1) white art-handling glove.
  • key ring with Fisher-Price plastic keys that once belonged to Eddie Lloyd during his raver days.
  • One (1) melted red candle in a candlestick.
  • One (1) N’Sync t-shirt, with pre-fab tears. Never worn. Handed down by Rebecca Shulman.

Do not let the opportunity to own other people's shit pass you by! Judging by how much of this crap once belonged to someone else, James J. Williams III certainly didn't.

Dig deep folks, and help James turn his "most cherished possessions," into a bold critique of our assumptions about property, ownership, art and rent money.
