Shotta can totally rock a suit. Maybe if he lived in a house with mirrors and stuff, rather than in his Mercedes, he'd already know that.
Lots of interesting, um, choices on this week’s episode of G’s to Gents. Kesan flipped a bitch and nearly knocked down the bathroom door for reasons unknown, Cee defaced his own picture to con the other boys into disliking Kesan even more, and Mikey P. (the white boy from Jersey who plays golf) revealed why he was here, because of course we were all wondering: he’s got to make payments on his four bedroom house and motorcycle. Meanwhile Shotta, a fellow G, is basically homeless. To quote Shaun: “Mikey P., there is nothing G about you. Not a single G. Not even a lower case G.”
The lesson of the episode for the G’s was how to fit your style to any given occasion. The lesson for the rest of us? That these boys are just that: little boys walking around in clothes that don’t fit. When Mr. Bentley had Kesan apologize to D-Boy in the chapter meeting, we couldn’t help but ask ourselves, when did Mr. Bentley become their mom?
G’s to Gents promises a transformation, but there haven’t been any so far, and with Mikey P. getting kicked off this week, one thing has become clear: to get to that prize money, these G’s are going to need to demonstrate both the need and the desire to change. This isn’t a transformation for the lazy; it’s for the guys like Shotta who grew up without a dad to teach him how to tie a tie.
BTW, last week, we incorrectly stated that each episode, one G gets denied membership to the gentleman’s club. In actuality, two G’s leave each week. Hmmm, that means there will only be one man in the club at the end of the show. Not much of a “club,” is it? Why would you want to be in that club? Oh, a hundred thousand dollars prize money? Riiiiiight.
