Is Matthew Broderick Having More "Sex In The City" Than His Wife?

Posted by Bryan Christian

Oh, god, all we can think about when we read this is that scene in Election where Broderick's best friend is talking about Stacy Flick and says the word "Puh-ssy" right up in the camera. We know, we know -- there's a marriage in jeopardy here maybe and we're thinking about a scene that doesn't even include the guy in question doing anything out of line, but, you know... "Puh-ssy." Ewwww!

Anyhow, um, the facts are these: Star Magazine is reporting that pretty much the only guy who didn't get nominated for his guest shot on 30 Rock this year, Matthew Broderick, has been caught cheating on his wife Sarah Jessica Parker with a 25-yr old youth counselor whose nickname for him was Matty Cakes.

During one tryst, they arrived at her friend's apartment after a night of heavy drinking, says a source. She dragged Matthew into the friend's bedroom, then shut the door. "A half hour later, Matthew opened the bedroom door, mumbled 'Well... 'bye!' and walked out. The friend found her passed out on the bed in her panties."

OK, well, that's not actually a well-observed tryst, or anything else really other than just circumstantially compromising. Heck, we've found ourselves in similar circumstances and ain't no cheating going on in our marriage. (Scout's honor!) But, you know, this is the buzz, and we're here to report it, so there you go. Here's hoping that Broderick and Parker just have one of those fun marriages where no one's jealous or any of that. Defamer's at least hinting at that possibility, so fingers crossed!

Lindy Parker has worked as a ghostwriter, editor, dance instructor and a purveyor of dreams, one beer at a time. She loves Charles Dickens and Gabriel Garcia Marquez and also, straight-to-video releases with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. It's possible she reads more teen fiction than she should. She hails from Los Angeles, her hometown and soul mate, but she lives in Brooklyn, the fling she'll never forget.

Olivia Purnell left Ohio for sunny Los Angeles; then found that she couldn’t ignore New York City’s call, and brought herself to Brooklyn where she has worked with GenArt, BlackBook, the School of American Ballet, and finished an M.A. in Creative Writing from N.Y.U. She loves one-liners with sting and hates the stench of the subway in the summer. That said, she can’t get enough of either.
