Miss "Swingtown" Last Night? That's Because It's On Tonight!

Posted by Bryan Christian

Hey guys, just an FYI in case you didn't know. CBS has decided to plug up that gaping hole in their Friday lineup -- y'know, the one that came after they unloaded Moonlight -- with Swingtown, that 70's-swingers soap that captivated us some weeks back and, in fact, continues to do so every time we see it. Seriously, everytime we see this show, we're kind of shocked at how sweet everyone seems, even when they're trying to nail someone else's wife. Especially when they're doing that.

Actually, we're a little disheartened by the impression we got last ep that they're starting to make someone -- we'll not say who -- a bad guy (or gal) on the show, and also that the strange sanctity of the two main couples' relationships seem to be headed towards some danger. Is this a sign that the rosy, laissez-faire approach to marriage that we so marveled at in early episodes is going to go the way of the mood ring? We'll keep ya posted! Meanwhile, if you're not up to anything and don't have a DVR, catch Swingtown tonight at 10PM on your local CBS affiliate. And then, you know, go be social. It'd suck if even the squares on a show about swinging were getting more action than you are.

Lindy Parker has worked as a ghostwriter, editor, dance instructor and a purveyor of dreams, one beer at a time. She loves Charles Dickens and Gabriel Garcia Marquez and also, straight-to-video releases with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. It's possible she reads more teen fiction than she should. She hails from Los Angeles, her hometown and soul mate, but she lives in Brooklyn, the fling she'll never forget.

Olivia Purnell left Ohio for sunny Los Angeles; then found that she couldn’t ignore New York City’s call, and brought herself to Brooklyn where she has worked with GenArt, BlackBook, the School of American Ballet, and finished an M.A. in Creative Writing from N.Y.U. She loves one-liners with sting and hates the stench of the subway in the summer. That said, she can’t get enough of either.
