The Hooksexup Video Blog is a leetle late to the party on this one, but since today's chock-full of political activism (free the Jena 6!) I'm including it. Check out John Kerry and Co. completely stand by as this University of Florida student gets carried off and brutally tasered... for daring to ask Kerry why he conceded the election.
I don't mean to pull out the tin-foil hat, but politics is cray-cray lately! This blatant police brutality -- and the complacency of the passers-by -- brings to mind this Rudy Giuliani quote:

I think that the cartoonist Lev rules. Plus, he's my Myspace buddy, which would have been cooler before Facebook came along and totally eviscerated Myspace, but, well, whatever. (And... hey! Would you like to be my cool Myspace buddy? Perhaps you would. Perhaps you would not. Only the future knows!)
Anyway, below is Lev's new video, "I'm not going to think about her," in which he once again offers helpful advice towards living a calmer, less neurotic life. Thanks, Lev! In honor of this video, I'm also not going to tell you guys any of the stories of girls who have dumped me in sad/hilarious ways. ...Because I'm past all that now.
So here's the video. I would add only that the scene in "The Empire Strikes Back" where Chewbacca puts C-3P0 back together is really sad. It's a howling, crying dog/monkey thing putting back together a broken robot. There's nothing sadder than that. Nothing that I can think of, anyhow. ...Anyway. Enjoy!

Mos Def on the Jena 6, Bigfoot

If you haven’t heard of the Jena 6, it’s some shit: as far as I understand it…down in Jena, Louisiana, there was a “tree of knowledge” planted on a high school grounds. However, only white students sat under the tree. Some black students asked the school authorities if they could sit under the tree; the authorities said it’s a free country.
So the black students sat under the tree.
The next day, red, white, and blue nooses were found hanging from the tree.
There was a fight.
The white students got off.
The black students were charged with attempted murder, as adults.
