Steven Spielberg had Megan Fox fired from "Transformers 3" for Hitler comment
By Jeff MillsJune 19th, 2011, 8:30 pmComments (37)Megan Fox may be sexy, but is that enough to get her back into blockbuster-franchise territory? Not if Steven Spielberg has anything to say about it. It was previously reported that Fox had compared Transformers director Michael Bay to Adolf Hitler during an interview with British magazine Wonderland. And while no one would mistake Bay for a mass murderer (at least offscreen), casually tossing off the H-word when attempting a simile involving a big-shot director generally doesn't go over too well.
So Spielberg, executive producer of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, apparently demanded that Bay fire Fox after hearing about the Hitler comment, contrary to previous PR-spun reports that had Fox voluntarily withdrawing from the film. Bay said, "You know the Hitler thing. Steven (Spielberg) said, fire her right now." Other crew members took shots at Fox on Bay's website, calling her "dumb as a rock" and comparing her acting chops to those of a porn star.
The twenty-five-year-old actress, who ironically appeared in the 2008 movie, How to Lose Friends & Alienate People, needs to do some image-engineering stat. Even her former co-star Shia LaBeouf told GQ, "She started shit-talking our captain. Which you can't do." Fox's replacement, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, is making her film debut but has already topped Maxim's Hot 100 List. She should be fine in Fox's place; how high could the acting bar have been set by someone whose last two movies were Jonah Hex and Passion Play?

Fox is going to be in Friends with Kids with Jon Hamm as well as a Judd Apatow movie, so I think she'll be just fine. I find the bullying of a young female actor (who seemed to be protesting her sexist treatment by lashing out) by two big shot film directors disgusting.
Agreed. And they insulted her acting and then replaced her with a model making her film debut? It doesn't get more hypocritical than that.
Transformers is such a sexist load of crap and her role was pathetic (she pretty much had to sit around with her mouth open or let herself be dragged around by that non-committal frat boy. I don't know, something like that, I fell asleep early on).
@Shibu - Totally agree. How dare they refuse to work with someone who demonstrates unprofessional behavior? The fact that she's a young female actor completely excuses her from that. They also trampled on her rights to free speech, just like what happen with Laura Schlessinger. How dare she have to be responsible for her words and actions!
Whatever RW, it's not like you never had an abusive boss.
But it's probably better for her to be out of that toxic environment. Onto the next job that requires her to smile like an idiot when treated like an object, run away from villains while wearing high heels, wear an inch-thick layer of make-up, and stand around with her mouth open, because that's what empowerment looks like and shit! Like, how dare she not be grateful?
I think you may be the first person to ever try and link Megan Fox and empowerment. She certainly didn't seem to have a problem cashing the $800,000 check she got for running in heels. No one forced her to take the previous Transformers jobs - and nothing guarantees her the next one.
I've had an abusive boss. Put up with his crap for as long as I could. Found another job and quit. It wasn't difficult.
Abuse in the workplace is an area of law that is pretty well traveled. Going to the press and comparing your boss to one of worst despots in human history is not on that well traveled path.
Sexist treatment? How so?
Something tells me "huh" that you wouldn't recognize sexist treatment against females even if it was packaged in shit with a big sign that said "sexist treatment" on top of it flashing by your window.
@... - Does that mean you don't know either?
Quote Shia LeBoeuf in recent LA Times Article -
“Megan developed this Spice Girl strength, this woman-empowerment [stuff] that made her feel awkward about her involvement with Michael (Bay), who some people think is a very lascivious filmmaker, the way he films women. Mike films women in a way that appeals to a 16-year-old sexuality. It’s summer. It’s Michael’s style. And I think (Megan) never got comfortable with it. This is a girl who was taken from complete obscurity and placed in a sex-driven role in front of the whole world and told she was the sexiest woman in America. And she had a hard time accepting it. When Mike would ask her to do specific things, there was no time for fluffy talk. We’re on the run. And the one thing Mike lacks is tact. There’s no time for [LaBeouf assumes a gentle voice] ‘I would like you to just arch your back 70 degrees.’”
O, and from the guardian a couple of years ago -
"When the sizzling star of “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” went to director Michael Bay’s house to audition for the part, “He made her wash his Ferrari while he filmed her,” reports Jason Solomons in Britain’s Guardian.
“She said she didn’t know what had happened to that footage. When I put it to Bay himself, he looked suitably abashed — ‘Er, I don’t know where it is either.’ ”
Wow, watching that film completely felt like being in the head of a 16 year old porn-watching boy and those quotes from M explain everything.
Also, making her wash his Ferrari as part of an audition-- how fucked-up and sexist is that?
Totally fucked up and degrading. If this is what people will publicly admit goes into the audition process, can you imagine what happens behind closed doors?
Megan Fox is a pathetically easy target; people who make fun of her look like fools.
if hitlers name still makes fear to spielberg then hitler is eternal
Translation - Megan wouldn't blow Sir Steven or his court jester Bay.
Megan compared Michael to Hilter. The man is JEWISH as well as Steven Spielberg! I wouldn't take her Hilter comment lightly. What she said was extremely distasteful. She can't act for sh*t anyways. I won't miss her in this movie.
Agreed. I am perturbed by the number of people who compare someone they don't like with Hitler. Everyone survived the filming of Transformers and Transformers 2, the extras weren't rounded up and put in camps at the end of filming, etc. she didn't really make any case for how Bay was like Hitler other than saying he was strict.
So, if she called him a Nazi (for example, the hilarious "Soup Nazi" episode in Seinfeld, written and performed by Jews), would that have been okay.. ? I'm sorry, but that's ridiculous. In this context, her likening Michael Bay to Hitler was merely a crude way of saying he acts like a dictator.. it's not inherently anti-Semitic. This was a case of Hollywood power-playing, not bigotry.
What a Jewish person calling the shots in Hollywood? Get out of here.
Casual anti-Semitism like this only justifies moves like Spileberg's.
Okay, one thing doesn't make sense with your criticism, Jeffrey. She didn't call the director Hitler because she thought it was a compliment or because she was condoning his dictatorial ways. She thought of the worst thing to call him actually -- so how is that anti-Semitic again?
I'm replying to "gag," not the article, hence the indent?
I still don't understand why casual anti-Semitism like gag's justifies Spielberg's firing of an actress who compared her dictatorial boss to Hitler.
@AT thats because you're being deliberately obtuse. Either that, or honestly stupid. Which is it?
It's funny how the Jewish power mongers can tear away at Christian values, all the while saying they need thicker skin, the same for there pokes at Muslims. However, take a poke at Jews or disagree with their never ending over-generalized tirade against Germany and they come angled and want to dissolve the career of said dirty word dealer. Get over it Jews. Spielberg, which by now should be Schpealberg, I'd also like my money back for that made for tv movie we were suckered out of our hard earned money for. You know, Super 8!
Ditto, and also, really?
i guess Jews really do run holywood.
Pretty much. Been in LA all my life; it's an industry accepted truth that hollywood is run by Jews for the most part. This is one of those factual, bizzaro world "racist" things. It's like saying Germans are good at making cars and someone calling this racist. Jews, for whatever reasons, have managed high level positions. Why is this bad? it is not, it's just true.

Oh darn! Because Megan Fox is the ONLY sexy woman in the world and without her, there's literally *NO ONE* to look at other than Roseanne Barr. Truly.
Close-tag snark: Seriously, to all those who rhapsodize about Ms. Fox--why am I supposed to care specifically about her? I mean, really: www.kindgirls.com
Transformers is a teen boy franchise movie, if she didn't want to continue being a part of it she should have told her agent cancel the job and look for other films. It is not okay for public figures to say what ever pops in to their heads to the press and then expect that there won't be consequences. I hope other people learn from this as well. Filter what you say to the press and it won't be on record to haunt you later.
