Bryan Fuller developing "Munsters" reboot for NBC

I am really torn on this one. One the one hand, I'm not a big fan of this reboot trend. ("Hey! This show's been off the air for ten years! Let's do something about that.") On the other hand, I can't really argue with the talent that's getting behind this project. Fans of the departed Pushing Daises, rejoice, because none other than Bryan Fuller is the mastermind of this Munsters reboot. And this description is pretty good:
So far, NBC, with whom Fuller has an overall deal, has ordered only a pilot. But since the potential series is being described to me as “Modern Family meets True Blood,” I have a good feeling about it.
That, frankly, sounds hilarious. (Though, since it's a show about an offbeat family, hopefully not too much like True Blood.)
I seem to have convinced myself this is a good idea in the span of three lines, but if I haven't done the same to you: Guillermo del Toro — the man behind the super creepy but amazing Pan's Labyrinth — is going to be a "behind the scenes" presence on the show, if it gets picked up. Whatever gets Fuller back on my TV screen is good with me, it seems.

This is just a knock off of the Addams Family, which was a better concept overall. I think a series rebook of the Addams Family could be far more interesting, but perhaps we've had enough Addams.
Yeah, we've definitely had enough Addams Family. They should just make a Munsters movie, with Ron Perelman or whoever starring as Herman, and put the thing to bed.
