Three major cast members are leaving Glee, might get a spin-off
By Jessica GentileJuly 15th, 2011, 11:00 amComments (8)If network television has taught us anything, it's that twenty-year-old actors can play teenagers for upwards of a decade (I'm looking at you, Screech). But that's not so for the kids at McKinley High. Glee creator, Ryan Murphy has announced that three of the show's major cast members will be graduating in the upcoming season, allowing Lea Michele (Rachel), Chris Colfer (Kurt) and Cory Monteith (Finn) to go on to bigger, better and more adult things. According to Murphy:
The thing that I wanted to do and the cast wanted to do, we didn't want to have a show where they were in high school for 8 years. We really wanted it to be true to that experience. We thought it would be really cool if we were true to the timeline."
Rumors are already swirling about a spin-off show starring Michele and Colfer that finds their characters pursuing their musical dreams in New York City. Could this much tamer, much gayer version of Sex and the City really be in the works? We'll have to wait around a couple years to find out.

Kurt can stay but the other two make me not want to watch the show. Give me Brittney and Mike Chang dancing every episode with a little bit of Artie, Puck, Lauren and I'll give it another shot. Also the original songs are the WORST.
I couldn't agree more!! the original songs were absolutely terrible. And i'd love to finally see some other cast members sing lead in a song for once.
oh Santana is also crucial.
Seconded.
straight guy talkin' 'bout Glee. How about that Naya Rivera?
Considering that the whole cast are seniors this year (unless they miraculously made some juniors making them freshmen in the first season), I figured that the whole cast would be graduating anyways.
without kurt, finn, rachael you might as well say the shows over. kurt and rachael are very talented I really enjoyed listening to them sing. the show wont be the same without them..
Dude, I'm sad they're leaving ):
Now you say something
