It looks as if Minka Kelly's publicist made the winning bid for this year's top honor at Esquire: the Friday Night Lights star was just named the magazine's Sexiest Woman Alive (2010 edition).

Although the show that launched her to glory is ending this year, Kelly is at the top of her game, with a recent pilot, appearance as herself on the season finale of Entourage, and her high-profile relationship with Yankees player Derek Jeter.

I was having a conversation the other night with someone who said Jeter never seems to be having fun when he's playing (unlike, say, Nick Swisher and Marcus Thames). I said, "I bet he expresses all his fun while banging Minka Kelley." My friend said, "Who?" So now I don't have to explain that comment anymore. Thanks, Esquire!

Straight girl with a question: What's so sexy about a woman checking herself out in a mirror? I see this kind of shot a lot in men's magazines and not always with girls in lingerie.

I think it's cause you then get a shot from both the front and the back.

Also, in the first few seasons of Friday Night Lights, she was hot as hell.

Minka was chosen as the Sexiest Woman Alive only because Jeter can have any woman he wants, so he's logically going to choose the sexiest woman alive. Incidentally, dead women aren't as sexy.
