Julie and Julia scene

Julie & Julia — or, the blog on which it was based — was stunt journalism at its best. For those that aren't familiar, Julie Powell worked her way through cooking all 524 recipes in Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking. In a take on Powell's career-making stunt, blogger Lawrence Dai will be watching Julie & Julia every day for a year and blogging about his probable descent into madness.

It's not clear if Dai even likes the movie, or if the blog will last, but it's fun to read. His posts delve into minutiae, the title cards, or actors who appear on screen for less than a minute. As someone who has seen this movie twice (once against my will, another because I was delighted by my first viewing), I can't imagine watching it 365 times in a row. However, my thoughts and prayers are with Dai — until he signs a book deal.

I kinda wish I had thought of that first.

Once was too much... It was fun so long as Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci were on screen and unwatchable otherwise.

OK. Continuing the meme, I am going to blog about reading that guy's blog, about watching a movie, about a blog, about a cookbook. Or maybe I won't.
