Are Breast Implants From Fat The Next Big Trend?

CBS has a story today about the rising trend in breast implants-- a trend that may soon take America by storm: using fat and stem cells to create a new, potentially-better version of breast implants.

The next generation of breast enlargement may come from something not synthetic but from your own fat and stem cells.

It started in Japan 6 years ago and is now being tested in London. Plastic surgeon Richard Ellenbogen says he already injects stem cells and fat into the face to give a plumped up refreshed look.

"It's basically recycling it. Fat for stem cell implants would be taken from the thighs or stomach," explained Ellenbogen.

The stem cells are extracted from fat and added to the rest of the fat injected into the breast in order to make the fat survive a little better than simply using fat alone.

"To be honest with you, with the proper research I think this will be the way to go," admitted Ellenbogen.

We don't think a lot of readers will care about this new development-- you don't strike us as the breast implant types, lovelies, and there are plenty of risks with this new method.
