She-Wolf For Governor: Shakira Fights New AZ Immigration Bill

Who knew Shakira was such an activist? Earlier this year she visited Haiti, showed public support for Cuba's Ladies In White (a badass movement of wives and female relatives of jailed dissidents that wear all white dresses while they attend mass and then walk silently through the street), and was a UNICEF goodwill ambassador- and she did all this while her very own foundation, Barefoot, provided nutrition to Colombian children.

Now she's taking her charitable talents (including that ass!) to Arizona to shake things up (like she does with that ass!) in the immigration debate. According to her adviser,

"Shakira is deeply concerned about the impact of this law on hardworking Latino families...She is coming to Arizona to try to learn more about how law enforcement is reacting to this new law and how we can ensure that people in the state of Arizona are not being targeted because of the color of their skin."

I'm just flat-out impressed. She's set up meetings with police chief and mayor of Phoenix. You have to admit, "My Hips Don't Lie" would be a catchy campaign slogan. Shakira for AZ governor anyone?
