Anthony Weiner was profiled as one of Cosmo's real-life bachelors in 1996

Back in 1996, way before Twitter was a proper noun, a little-known New York City councilman named Anthony Weiner graced the pages of Cosmopolitan in a spread of "101 real-life bachelors." Under the headline "The Future President?" (we'll let you be the judge of that), he looks his boy-band-best in a plaid blazer and offers up some telling remarks.

When asked what he looks for in a "first lady," he replied, "Someone smarter than me. I want to be sucked back into the throes of love — isn't that what everybody really wants?" (I think that's code for hot sex.) Oh and as for his favorite cartoon character, it's "Newt Gingrich for obvious reasons." You can read the full profile here.
