Now that it's time to start thinking about post-30 Rock career moves, rumors have been mounting for a while that Alec Baldwin, an extremely vocal Democrat, might actually run for office. Baldwin's been mostly dismissive, but with disgraced Representative Anthony Weiner presumably out of the race for New York City Mayor in 2013, sources are saying the actor's reconsidering and thinks he may have a real shot.
"Alec said, 'Hey, maybe this changes the race. The dynamics have shifted,'" a friend of Baldwin's said. "The Democrats need a high-profile candidate, and Alec can fill that bill."
I'm generally not a fan of actors-as-politicians, but I actually buy this one a little bit. Baldwin's been an amateur politico for years, and if nothing else, his tenure playing Jack Donaghy serves as proof that he's got the whole "stately" thing down pat. Time to start silk-screening the Baldwin 2013 shirts?

You wonder if the eventual Republican he runs against will find a way to use "30 Rock" against him.
no, but they could use "Miami Blues" against him - that movie sucked balls!
don't you mean NBC's Mayor?
Baldwin is an incredible Weiner.
This guy is a fat pig.
What has Baldwin ever managed? Being a mayor (or governor) is very different that being a legislator. I could imagine supporting Baldwin for Congress; I could not imagine supporting him to become the manager of anything as complex as New York City. Bloomberg hasn't been perfect, but he's managed the City well overall, and that come from his business experience.
Baldwin running for NYC Mayor? #Weinering.
