Who Would Your Rather?: Winona Ryder v. Janeane Garofalo

Posted by Nicole Pasulka

Today we saw a video of naked Winona Ryder in Sex and Death 101. Of course we were excited about the boob flash, but we were also just happy to see Winona in a movie. We had the same feeling when we found out Janeane Garofalo was going to be in the upcoming season of 24. We’re glad these two have stuck around. Sure they’re kind of weird, but weren’t they the shit back in 1994, dancing in convenience stores and smoking in diners? And doesn’t it feel good to be reminded of that? And wouldn’t it be nice to light some candles, put on some Luther Vandross, and make endless love to them here and now (sorry!)? We could be happy as clams loving either of these ladies, but we want to know who you’d challenge to a game of naked hide-and-seek.

Who Would You Rather?

  • Winona Ryder
  • Janeane Garofalo

UPDATE: We let this one go on a while longer than usual because it turns out you're as smitten with these women as we are. But one lights your fire just a bit more than the other.

Winner: Winona Ryder. She didn't just steal from Saks, she stole your hearts, too.

Winona, but I'd like to talk to Janeane about how such an impossible situation could have occurred over coffee just to hear her take on it.

No contest - Winona.  More attractive and, as far as Janeane being the funny smart one, I have recently come to the conclusion that she is neither.  Have you ever seen her standup?  And I was really looking forward to it, thinking that she was the clever wiseass she was typecast as over and over again.  Nope, just cynical (which I like), but completely lacking in humor and perceptiveness.

And as far as her becoming a political commentator?  I actually share her politics, but she sucks at representing our views on tv.  I remember watching her respond to some conservative dickhead on one of the Sunday morning news shows and wishing desperately that there was somebody, anybody else, to argue our side in the discussion.  I was just embarassed for her as she was easily demolished in an argument when the other guy's stance had no moral or ethical ground to stand on.

Winona's way cuter.

Winona by a mile. She's super crazy, and she can be funny. Janeane is funny for a while, but her schtick gets old fast. And Winona's eyes can melt the sun. That settles it for me.

Winona, because I'm powerless to resist the crazy, and she's probably as good in conversation as Janeane, if not better.

Sadly, Janeane is ruined for me by the wannabes who spawned in her wake, all wearing sweaters/turtlenecks and huffing and puffing with "irony" and desperately caring in showing that they don't care what you think.
