Hillary Clinton vs. [Bleep]

Posted by Brian Fairbanks

Poor Hillary Clinton. First, drinking coffee with friends leads to a nervous breakdown on national television. Then, she is humiliated further yesterday when her husband, the President of the United States, is challenged to a dance-off with Senator Obama on Dancing with the Stars.

But none of that compares to the news today that a new and potentially powerful grassroots organization has taken up arms against her, and they are about to do so in the most offensive way possible.

Roger Stone, a Republican operative and famed Nixon dirty trickster, infamous for once bribing a New York politician to throw the state's Presidential votes to Ronald Reagan in 1980, has started a new political group that will be much more controversial than John Kerry's nemeses the Swift Boat Vets. The group? Citizens United Not Timid. (Hint: the problem isn't the words...)

They'll be selling the summer's hottest t-shirts this year.

UPDATE: Here's a link to the official Citizens United page.

Can you spell "backfire"?  I'm a registered voter with a long history of independent critical judgments of the sorry pool of presidential candidates paraded past me every four years since 1976, and although I am not particularly impressed by the prospect of seeing HRC win the Dem Nomination, I am even less impressed by the use of crass misogynist tactics to attack her.  I have a cunt too, as do the other mothers, sisters and daughters of America and at last count, we still outnumber the dicks. You boys (and the women who, God help them, love you) should remember that old quote about "a woman scorned", do some research about "sympathy votes" and finally, remember that your own mother had a cunt, happily for YOU.  I find this to be a poor choice of tactic, no matter whom my vote ultimately goes to.

Now that anyone can put an add on TV it's difficult to determine who is behind them, until you hear the candidate state that they approve this message.

I think you have to look at what is being put out by the candidates and being approved by the candidates. There are PACs out there pushing crap from both sides of the aisle, and they do great harm to legitimate candidates.

Go past the media ads and look at the actual platforms the candidates are proposing.  They are all going to attract some cranks but that is no reason to discount the actual candidates message.

ugh, how disgusting! I utterly loathe Hillary Clinton (to my great disappointment--I really wanted to like her like I did when I was a kid and Bill was in office) but I really wish people would stick to the right reasons for opposing her. I mean come on people, isn't it enough that she's a disingenuous, power-hungry, conniving phony who epitomizes the mediocrity and shame that has blemished the Democratic party for many years? We have to attack her gender too? And make her cry on TV again so she can pull another few wins?

I mean, come on, people, we're better than this. When I see stuff like this, my female spirit balks so much it makes me wish I supported her so I could feel some solidarity. And if it can make ME feel an ounce of compassion for this woman, than we're talking about potentially a lot of unfounded support based on sympathy and an exploited sense of victimhood.

Seriously, the guys behind this need to crawl back into their caves. Or be slapped very hard by their mothers.

And...GO OBAMA!!!
