Political correspondent/clueless putz David Shuster was reprimanded by both his employers at MSNBC and Senator Hillary Clinton after musing on national TV whether the Clinton campaign was pimping out Chelsea.
Another clueless TV personality, former CNN correspondent Charles Bierbauer, told the New York Daily News that this kind of comment just proved Shuster was a hip dude and down with "the vernacular these days."
If it wasn't enough for these dumb bastards to be talking smack about a woman we love to love, but now it gives the Clinton campaign some ammo to distract the media with after a very, very disappointing weekend for them. Barack Obama swept three states and closed the gap in the delegate count. His win in Washington was not a complete shock, but it would have been much less surprising had Hillary carried that state easily.
But the media is embarrassed by this "pimping" story and is easily duped and distracted by the Clintons. Look at how Hillary unleashed her utter fury in what can only be described as a carefully-worded press release attack designed to garner the maximum amount of sympathy:
I'm a mother first, and a candidate next.
Nothing justifies the kind of debasing language that David Shuster used and no temporary suspension or half-hearted apology is sufficient.
Surely, you can do your jobs as journalists and commentators and still keep the discourse civil and appropriate.
Seriously, people, if you're upset by how Chelsea is being treated, maybe you should read Shuster's remarks in their actual context. He doesn't sound like so much of a shithead, although he's still quite a dumbass for thinking this would go over well. He asked if Chelsea's increasing profile on the campaign trail was not tantamount to her
sort of being pimped out in some weird sort of way?
Hardly worth a suspension, a vitriolic press release from Hillary, and any talk of getting him fired, right?
