This is what we've feared all along.
An ABC News blogger reported that an anonymous DNC official told him Hillary Clinton's only path to winning the Demcoratic nomination is, indeed, contingent upon dooming Barack Obama's chances in both the primary and the general election.
"Her securing the nomination is certainly possible - but it will require exercising the 'Tonya Harding option,'" the official said. "Is that really what we Democrats want?" [ABC News, via Attytood]
(We also dispute the idea that it is "possible," but that's a whole 'nother can uh worms.)
Of course, we can't fathom anyone, even Hillary Clinton, stooping so low (as low as, say, Reagan not campaigning for Ford so he'd lose to Jimmy Carter) as to not support the candidacy of Barack Obama after hers ends in a few months. Then again, would anybody really be surprised if Hillary is caught, hammer in hand, with the crumpled party at her feet?
P.S.: "(In this metaphor, presumably, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., would be Oksana Baiul. Does that make former President Bill Clinton Jeff Gillooly?)" - via ABC News.
