These two women were awarded £5,000 after their real estate agent thought putting the word "lesbians" on their listing would be funny...
When the women logged onto the real estate website to see how their house was doing, they were shocked to see the word "lesbians" in place of a reference number on the advertisment. After contacting Jackson-Stops & Staff, the real estate agency, the women received a letter back asserting, "We fail to see how we have discriminated against you."
The women were eventually awarded £5,000 in an out-of-court settlement.
According to the Daily Mail, "It is believed," (though it's unclear, exactly, by who) "that [the comment] was placed there as a joke."
We have two words: Not funny. Also: only £5,000?
