John Edwards, former Presidential Candiate and running mate to John Kerry, has finally admitted to ABC News that he actually did have an affair with 44-year old Rielle Hunter...
But was quick to explain that it was a "sexual" affair and that he "did not love her." He also denied being the father of her 7-month-old daughter, Francis Quinn, claiming the affair ended too soon for the baby to be his. To that we say, "Yeah, right."
Looks like the mainstream news will finally have to start covering this story, after blatantly ignoring the National Enquirer's reports from as early as October of last year. More recently, the Equirer came out with photos of Edwards holding his purported love child, which was -- once again -- blatantly ignored.
But all this begs the question: If Edwards didn't love her and the baby isn't his - why the covert visits? Why the veritable cuddles?
We (along with everyone else) call shenanigans.
And lastly - the timeline would suggest that he began the affair while his wife was in remission from cancer. (She now has an incurable form of her disease.) Has he no decency? (Though, to be fair, Edwards claims that his wife and family knew about the affair from late 2006 - though, to be fair again, she did not know about his nocturnal baby visit.)
Oh, and one more thing: "A former campaign aide, Andrew Young, has said he was the father of the child," - which Edwards has not denied. Nothing like a little sharesies amongst Presidential candidates and their aides!
Many more updates to come, we guarantee it.
