Look is an award-winning indie-ish movie weaving several different story threads into a single narrative via a pretty cool conceit: the whole thing appears to be unfolding, in what seems to be real time, in front of surveillance cameras. Sounds interesting, right? So why aren't we super-excited to check it out? We're not exactly sure. Maybe it's because most of the subplots sound like they came from the Law and Order circular file? Oh, and it might also be the prospect of being stuck watching two hours of poorly lit actors pretending like what they're saying is actual conversation. If we wanted that, we'd watch a Hills marathon.
Well, anyhow, it opens here in NYC this Friday. Anyone out there caught a festival screening? Should we check it out? Are our fears totally off-base? If we do, we'll let you know what we thought. In the meantime, here's the official website and, um, a Maxim shoot with some of the stars. (Hence the 'ish' in 'indie-ish.')
