TV Bookshelf: Patrick Swayze's Autobiography

Posted by Lindy Parker

No lie, we had a dream about Patrick Swayze last night in which he was reunited with his long lost love child who, in our dream, was played by Taryn Manning.  In an attempt to lessen the tension of the situation, we told Patrick how much we love the movie One Last Dance -- which now that we're thinking about it seems kind of insensitive of us.  Regardless, dream Patrick seemed gratified by the compliment and grateful to us for befriending Taryn Manning on the subway (which is how we happened to be present at the surprise reunion in the first place).

All this to say, we kind of feel like we know Patrick Swayze now, and as a result, oddly invested in his upcoming memoir...

Patrick Swayze is planning to write a memoir with his wife Lisa.  People magazine reports that the 56 year-old star -- currently seen on TV in The Beast -- will not be writing an inspirational book per se but one about his life's journey, which includes his ongoing fight with cancer. (Radar)

As always, best of luck Patrick. We'll be the first in line to read it.

About Lindy Parker

Lindy Parker has worked as a ghostwriter, editor, dance instructor and a purveyor of dreams, one beer at a time. She now writes for hooksexup.com's TV blog, "The Remote Island." She loves Charles Dickens and Gabriel Garcia Marquez and also, straight-to-video releases with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. It's possible she reads more teen fiction than she should. She hails from Los Angeles, her hometown and soul mate, but she lives in Brooklyn, the fling she'll never forget.

Olivia Purnell left Ohio for sunny Los Angeles; then found that she couldn’t ignore New York City’s call, and brought herself to Brooklyn where she has worked with GenArt, BlackBook, the School of American Ballet, and finished an M.A. in Creative Writing from N.Y.U. She loves one-liners with sting and hates the stench of the subway in the summer. That said, she can’t get enough of either.
