Gotta say, it seems like Patrick Swayze is kicking cancer’s ass . . .
Swayze was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer less than a year ago. Despite the devastating diagnosis (pancreatic cancer has only a 5percent five-year survival rate), Patrick Swayze is putting in 12-hour days as the lead actor in A&E’s new police drama The Beast, playing Charles Barker, an undercover FBI agent. Swayze tells The New York Times that chemotherapy still blows, but he’s loving being back at work:
So far, the production team reported, he has missed only a day and a half of work. Mr. Swayze said: “I’m still fine to work, I haven’t changed — oh, I have changed, what am I saying? It’s a battle zone I go through. Chemo, no matter how you cut it, is hell on wheels.”
[. . .]
“I do find myself, at the end of the day, riding home sort of catching myself with a smile on my face,” he said. “I’m proud of what I’m doing.”
Patrick, dude, we’re proud too. Let’s celebrate with a little Ghost-era Swayze and Demi:
Awesome.
