Peter Smith
,
Editor
peter(at)hooksexup.com
Peter Smith is like the lead character of Irwin Shaw's The 80-Yard Run, except less athletic. He considers himself very lucky to have this job. But it's a little premature to take "jack-off of all trades" off his resume. Besides writing, travelling, and painting houses, Pete plays guitar in a rock trio called The Aye-Ayes. He calls them a 'power pop' band, but they generally sound more like Motorhead on a drinking binge.

John Constantine,
Associate Editor
johnc(at)hooksexup.com
John, our superhero, was raised by birds and then attended Penn State University. He is currently working on a novel about a fictional city that exists only in his mind. John has an astonishingly extensive knowledge of Scientology. Ultimately he would like to learn how to effectively use his brain. He continues to keep Wu-Tang's secret to himself.

Nicole Ankowski,
Associate Editor
nicolea(at)hooksexup.com
Nicole Ankowski is a writer, editor and occasional performance artist. Her written work has appeared in Hooksexup, Babble, The Daily Beast and a smattering of alt-weeklies across the country. Her vocal stylings have soothed on-hold callers at Florida dental offices, Ohio car dealerships and Jack Nicklaus golf courses. She lives in Brooklyn.

Sam Apple,
Contributing Book Editor

Sam Apple's work has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, ESPN The Magazine, and Slate.com, among many other publications. His first book, Schlepping Through the Alps, was named a finalist for the PEN America award for a first work of nonfiction. In 2005 he received the annual Faux Faulkner award. Apple's next book, American Parent, will be published in 2008.

Jack M.,
Editor-at-Large

Erstwhile editor-in-chief of and columnist for Hooksexup, Jack returns, seeking scraps of his former glory. He is the author of the ribald essay collections The Naughty Bits and Classic Nasty — both playful tours of sexuality in the history of literature. His newest book, the much more gift-able to your mother Beowulf on the Beach: What to Love and What to Skip in Literature’s 50 Greatest Hits, is a field guide to reading and relishing the classics (due out in June, you can pre-order it here). He has had short stories anthologized widely, including in The Best American Erotica editions of 1999, 2000, and 2001, and is currently at work on a steamy novel. He lives in New York’s Chinatown, is part of a blissful open relationship, and can be reached .
