Reader Feedback on "Sex Advice from . . . Dog Walkers"
Condoms are better with a little lube. And yes, they do take practice. Timing is critical. I don't like the attitude from the poster.

Of course condoms are the best way to prevent STD transmission, no one's denying that. But they also suck -- for many people, even the best ones take a lot away from the experience, and basically make you wonder why you're bothering to do this (have sex) in the first place. (And that's not only true of men -- I've known many women who have wanted to ditch the condoms ASAP in their relationships.) When safe-sex advocates pretend that that's not true, or that everyone who doesn't like them is a whiny baby, then it's irritating at best. I do agree that the Pill sucks, though there are other methods like the IUD -- but then again aren't you being a bit heteronormative in your perspective? And as for "get some practice", would you tell a woman having trouble with vaginismus, or anorgasmia, that she's a "douchebag" who needs to "get some practice"?

It is far simpler to go through a little discomfort for a man by slipping on a condom than it is for a woman to have to undergo a complete hormonal change that may irrevocably alter her menstrual cycle, emotional well-being by taking the pill. The next "safest" form of birth control or whatnot which of course, does nothing to prevent STDs. As far as any dude not being able to stay erect with a condom on or while putting one on: Get some practice. Ben's utterly spot-on.

I gotta say, Ben's remark that people who aren't fans of condoms are "douchebags" is way too harsh. For me, it's not that I find them "uncomfortable", it's that I sometimes have a really hard time staying erect with a condom on (partly because after a while, I can't feel a damn thing). If that makes me less of a man or whatever, fine, but I don't appreciate being called a "douchebag" -- and I really hate the weird punitive, sadistic tone that safe-sex nazis so often get. Safe sex is a really good idea, but real life is way more complicated than bumper-sticker slogans, and I know I'm not the only one who goes through this issue. Talking to us like we're errant children is just alienating and annoying.

Actually there are dogs that don't have furr but have hair. This is what you should try if you are dating someone allergic to dogs. Not all of them are little nippy dogs either.
