Reader Feedback on "I Belong to Me"
I think your success is great. I know an artist that writes her own songs as well by the name of Kissimistry. I believe that good song writers have inner rooms inside themselves that allow them to express via writing. I'm glad you your path to writing was taken instead of an office job. Without songs that tap into the soul, where would we be. Check out Kissimistry writing skills at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZH8dvBhOks

I read and fell in love with Warren all over agian, not literally in the head over heels weak in the knees, I can't live if living is without you, love, but I just love how wonderful her songs are and how inspiring she has been, but I have a question for her if possible, how can she write so many beautiful songs without knowing what love is, she talks about it all the time, I write songs myself and I've been told that I write to many love songs, and I couldn't possibly understand what's going on without knowing what love is? Is this true or is this just away of putting me down? Well I should end this now, before it becomes a huge letter.

Yes, great interview! I would just like to mention one outstanding thing about Diane's songs that doesn't always get mentioned: they have a great rhythmic groove, especially in the melodic phrasing, even in the ballads. Yes, they are about romance, but this rhythmic phrasing hallmark of hers is what I really like -- coupled with great melody and harmony. This is why so many R&B singers like Brandy, Monica and Chrisitina Aguilera have been such good fits for her songs. The new song "I Belong To Me" has this groove -- right in the first phrase.

This interview was very well done. I feel closer to the subject, but I also feel like I got a huge insight into the industry. I knew there were still songwriters, but I guess I thought more artists were writing their own songs. I have some digging to do now, because I need to know who's been actually writing all these great songs that inspired me to start songwriting....

Ahem! Scorpions and Heart are definitely not "groups we can hardly remember"! I'll be happy to forget about Boyz II Men, though. The interview itself was great and looked like a lot of fun to conduct!
