Apocalypse didn't come on Saturday, movement leader "bewildered"

As some of you may have noticed, the May 21 apocalypse everyone's been talking about didn't actually happen on Saturday. Pretty great, right? But what's good news for the rest of us is incredibly awkward news for Harold Camping, president of Family Radio and the man responsible for all this end of days fuss. So it's not too surprising that sources close to Camping say he has no current plans to answer questions or issue any statement and that he's not taking the news too well:
"Camping's wife described him as being 'somewhat bewildered' and 'mystified' that events did not unfold on May 21 as Camping had predicted, [said Family Radio board member Tom Evans]. Evans said his personal position is that the public is owed an apology and he wants the board — and Camping — to meet on Tuesday to figure out what to say and do next."
Hmm, it does sort of seem like a strategy might be in order there. But buck up, Harold! Public embarrassment isn't fun for anyone, but it's still way better than being engulfed in flames, right?

That's ok. He's still made lots of $$$ from this whole thing, and in a decade or so he can trot it out all over again.
He's 94, so hopefully this is the last time he pulls this crap. Of course, I'm sure someone else is already on deck.
I was hoping the world would end. That would have solved all my problems.

I think belief without any kind of evidence is what created this whole mess. Religion is fake.

Ancient man had no way to explain what he saw around him, so there must have been an invisible being controlling everything. By now we should all know better.
And what of all the other gods throughout time? What makes a Christian right and the ancient Egyptians wrong?
I'm not much different than most religious folk, I just believe
in one less god. So when they come to terms with why they dismisd all the other gods throughout time then they should undetstand why i dismiss theirs.

I liked apocalypse day. I think we should have one every year.

I had a chuckle to myself waking up Sunday morning realizing the Rapture had not begun. Then I started to worry the thing had started, and there was just no-one I knew deserving of being taken up to Heaven.
PS a colleague checked the guy's math. Leaving aside all the spurious nature of the numbers he used in his calculation to begin with, my friend reckoned the old fart was a day off, and it should have been Friday!
