66-year-old Helen Mirren wins L.A. Fitness "Body of the Year" poll

In a stunning upset, sixty-six-year-old Dame Helen Mirren has edged out the bootylicious likes of Jennifer Lopez and Pippa Middleton (who won a consolatory "Rear of the Year" prize) to top health-club chain L.A. Fitness' "Body of the Year" poll. You're either thinking Taylor Hackford is a lucky man, or whaaaaaat?
The 2000 male and female poll participants were possibly influenced by a 2008 set of photos showing Mirren frolicking on an Italian beach in a red bikini, and possibly influenced by a desire to vote for what they perceive as a more attainable body. Chalk one up for the AARP crowd, as all that Wii Fit time put in by the Oscar winner has paid off beautifully.
This also sets a helpful precedent, I believe, for young body-dysmorphia sufferers driven to despair by media representations implicitly praising pipe-cleaner torsos. As long as Betty White doesn't win next year, I'm good with it. Following are the results:

AARP crowd be damned. Helen is throwing down the total package and that's what makes her so appealing.

Helen Mirren is a stunning, vintage woman. I am so happy that the public eye is redefining the breadth & depth of beauty.
I love how in the last picture of her on the top, she's waving like she's saying "hello boys!" :)
and the one next to it, where she has her hand on her chest, it's like she's answering a bunch of catcalls with a flirty-coy "Who me?"
I bet if you put up that Twilight girl, she would have won just because of the fan girls. It's kinda like asking people what's the best music player and everyone saying iPod even though iPods are garbage.
Not that I'm saying Helen has an overwhelming fan base; I was just on a tangent.
Good for her! I can only hope to look that good several decades from now.

Congratulations Helen! It's hard WORK, keeping a body like that. Not just coasting off of your body's' natural age advantage, that's what I love and respect about her. Not to mention self confidence!
