Wet Hot American Summer prequel in the works
By Austin DuerstJune 22nd, 2011, 1:30 pmComments (4)The 2001 cult classic Wet Hot American Summer, which is responsible for kicking off the careers of some of today's best comedians, is getting a prequel. What's more, even though the actors were much too old for their roles in the first film, the planned prequel will take things in an even more bizarre direction: all the original actors, now ten years older, will return to their original roles.
The film's director, David Wain, who also stuck around from the original, explains:
The prequel would be the same summer... So it would be forty-year olds playing sixteen-year olds. And yeah, we’re in the early stages of thinking about that.
The age discrepancy could only add to the absurdist comedy of the original, so no Benjamin Button-style reverse-aging technology will be required. The original film featured a talking can, an impending doomsday meteor, and a cook who liked to fondle his sweaters. Is a sixteen-year-old camp counselor with osteoporosis really such a stretch?

Hopefully we'll get to see Bradley Cooper take it up the ass again.
Agreed.
My favorite movie ever. God I hope this is A. true and B. doesn't blow.
