Kentucky Governor announces plans for Creationist amusement park
By Brian FairbanksDecember 1st, 2010, 1:44 pmComments (6)First, they created the Creation Museum. Now, Kentucky — acting in conjunction with the Governor — are creating a Biblical amusement park. The theme will be the fable of Noah's Ark, which, as many people know, involved a large number of meat-eating animals hanging out on a rich old dude's yacht in the Middle East or something.
Sorry for the blasphemy — let's just get right to the facts, shall we? I'll save my "the ACLU is going to sue the shit out of these people for violating the separation of church and state" comments for another time.
The attraction is envisioned as a full-scale wooden ark that would include associated museums, theaters, amenities, event venues and outdoor parking.
Preliminary indications are that the attraction could draw as many as 1.6 million guests per year and would cost at least $24.5 million to complete.
Joining [Governor] Beshear at Wednesday’s announcement in the State Capitol Building will be Mike Zovath, senior vice president of Answers in Genesis and head of the Creation Museum project and Grant County Judge/Executive Darrell Link.
Beshear’s participation in the announcement suggests state incentives for the project may be included. [NKY.com]

simply terrifying
But can it be built in six days?
It's the Lord's world, after all (repeat ad infinitum) Seriously: If it's built on privately owned land, with private dollars, how can the ACLU sue them? Maybe over the use of tax incentives?
The pandering skepticism of the author as well as the silly comments that have followed simply amplify the utter ignorance concerning the details of the actual Genesis account. Take some time to truly research the facts of the record. Hide yourself under a blanket with your computor to preserve your reputation if you must, but do a little quality fact finding before regurgitating the same old cynical blather of the simple-minded masses.
@ D. Marc Jacobs: Attempts at sounding intelligent tend to fail when misspelling simple words like 'computer', fyi. Also, creationism = utter ignorance.
And we were happy find out that it ain't just kentucky with the Arky! Tho, they let us in.
