After receiving $1 million an episode for last year's A&E series Sarah Palin's Alaska, America's former sweetheart/Bumpit's most popular middle-aged spokesperson thought she could make lightning strike twice by requesting the same amount for a show about husband Todd's snowmobiling exploits.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Palin and producer Mark Burnett (Survivor, The Apprentice, Who Wants To Marry a Muppet?) pitched the series to TLC and A&E, both of whom passed on the show. Although a spokesperson for Mark Burnett Productions has yet to return a call for comment, it's safe to say that the networks weren't interested because of a) Palin's unusually steep asking price, and b), the fact that absolutely no one in America would watch a TV show about Todd Palin's snowmobile-racing career, except maybe Todd Palin and one or two of his snowmobiles.

Palin's star has faded somewhat since her announcement in October that she would not run for president, with the media instead choosing to focus their attentions on GOP candidates like Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich. This probably helps explain why A&E, which entered into a bidding war with Discovery for Sarah Palin's Alaska over a year ago, passed on the show. The networks' disinterest indicates that the days of the press flying into a frenzy over Palin adorably botching a GRE vocab word are largely over. "I think it's safe to say her time has passed," one network insider says. You betcha!

She couldn't be more "done." She has no contribution to make and she's certainly not entertaining. I don't even think her "fan base" cares about her anymore.

I suspect that she will follow Al Gore into a quiet, non-consequential retirement where she can enjoy her millions with her family.

Dec 13 11 - 12:13pm
Except...

Al Gore didn't "retire" he dedicated the rest of his life to making the world a better place. Palin has done nothing.

For someone so pretty, she's so stupid! A moron has more intelligence. Couldn't she just fade away and disappear? I'll be glad when election day is over.
