Roseanne working on new sitcom, Downwardly Mobile
By Virginia SmithAugust 11th, 2011, 8:30 amComments (4)Queen of nineties TV comedy Roseanne Barr is staging a comeback (her current reality show Roseanne's Nuts doesn't count, in my book), and is currently developing a new sitcom with 20th Century Fox. The series, Downwardly Mobile, would primarily be a star vehicle for Barr, and will center around a blue-collar family trying to get by in a bad economy. In other words, the exact same plot as Roseanne, with maybe a few tweaks here and there.
It may not be a huge artistic departure for Barr, but as far as I'm concerned, this is the best TV-related news since Mad Men came to Netflix streaming. Welcome back, Roseanne!

Celebrity ruined Roseanne, which then ruined "Roseanne." Hopefully lack of celebrity will bring Roseanne back.
No Goodman, no care.
Maybe Goodman will be included?
I like the original name better, "Fuggly McFugglestein."
