Because of course he did. Depp was also joined by a cast of perfectly off-beat musicians, including Chrissie Hynde, Nick Cave, Bobby Gillespie, the Clash’s Mick Jones, and Eliza Doolittle. We get it, Johnny Depp. You do not have to keep trying so hard to live up to your own public image. You live in France. You are probably common-law married to Tim Burton at this point. You can take a rest.
All joking aside, though, it's nice to see people still doing things to help Haiti, and I aurally cannot stand "We Are the World", so some Screamin' Jay Hawkins up in this place is a nice change of pace.
And if you like the song and/or want to help Haiti some more, you can order it here.

This is the best tribute song I've ever heard, although when its competition is "We are the World" and Green Day's "When the Saints Go Marching In"...
No matter what I do, I can't shake that this song evokes images of the movie Hocus Pocus, with Bette Midler.
Was that Severus Snape at 2:50?
We are the World is so terrible this time around. I love the anger and emotion in this. Given what's going on in Haiti, this seems to capture the mood better than an auto-tuned hip hop star.
Hocus Pocus! Yes!
