Today in WTF: Underwear For Your Feet

Capezio — a company that’s famous for making dancewear — also makes a little something called “Thongz FootUndeez.” It looks like a tiny pair of underwear, but (as the name implies) you wear it on your foot, with the crotch part between your toes. I don’t know anything about dance, but I guess the point of something like this is to protect your foot when you’re wearing uncomfortable dance shoes, the kind that hurt so much they make your feet bleed. So this actually makes sense. It even makes sense to make them available in cute colors and patterns (Flowers! Leopard print! Skulls!) instead of just boring, ugly beige. But the only problem is that you have a miniature pair of underwear on your feet, and that’s just  dumb.

Maybe Capezio knows this, and they made these things on some kind of company-wide dare. I can picture the marketing team cracking themselves up as they decide that the product name should contain not one, but two, gratuitous z’s, and then writing ad copy explaining that Foot Undeez “provide protection and security where it is needed most.”

I think they're really cool and I know a few people who will probably use these.

It's socks with holes in them. Come on!

I love these things and I used to use them! You use them while dancing so you can be almost barefoot, but they protect the feet a little. And they make turning a whole lot easier, yet since the whole foot isn't covered, there is still some traction.

They're also really useful if you want to do aerobics or yoga without a full shoe. Then you don't get those friction burns on the balls of your feet.

it's a dance thing :). they're usually for modern routines, when you wanna be barefoot but as michelle said, have some traction for turning and protecting your feet. its cute that they come in different patterns now though xD.
