I guess I should introduce myself too-hopefully better late than never. My good excuse is that I got back late last night from 6 weeks in Blighty, with a side trip to Spain just to be cosmopolitan. My brain is still jelly, so be kind. (Wrong continent, make that jello)
Back in 1999, I was 5 years into my stint in New York, living in a rent stabilized apartment in the village, making a decent chunk of money and going out all the time. I got hit on in bars, had my share of short and longer relationships, but then online dating arrived as the new, edgy thing to do. I went after the new trend with a vengeance. My friends all thought I'd be murdered by some lunatic in a raincoat, but I thought it would be a laugh and it was. (Since then, of course, all those naysayers have done it too)
Hundreds of emails ensued, because back then it was a male dominated sport, and I practically quit my job to keep up with it all. In truth, my bosses considered me to still be employed, but they were puzzled by my need to constantly "research" things on the Internet.
On my 30th date, I met "the one".
A few years and 2 beautiful sons later, "the one" has become the "used to be" and I am back in the game where the rules have changed as drastically as my circumstances.
I might not get out as much as the average Hooksexupr, but my life tends to run like a soap opera so there's always something to talk about. Check back often...
By the way, is this a competition? My entry was kinda short. (Prolly should mention my love of double entendre)
