Hey, you know how you just bought that new HDTV? And you spent, like, a lot of money on it? Well, Samsung would like to tell you to go f- yourself, because they just released the world’s first 3-D TV!!!
!!!!
That’s right. An entire paragraph of exclamation points. That’s how excited I am.
The Cannes 450 has the ability to display 3D movies and games by attaching to a (not provided) 3D ready PC. There’s already a partnership with EA Games in the works, so it may not be too long until the whole package is readily available.
It’s currently only available in Korea, but will be hitting US shores in about a month. There’s a 42-incher, for the approximate price of $1,850, and a 50-incher for about $2650. The hilarious catch here is that neither of those units are actually HD, so you’re going to probably want to shell out $4150 for the 50-inch HD model, the Cannes 550. Good luck with that.
You'll also need 3-D Glasses, which retail for about 25 cents per unit.
