I’ve previously written about the joys of Big Buck Hunter, the game where you get to destroy animals without actually killing anything, while drinking beer. You know, the perfect game? Anyway, there was a little tease at the end of that post about Big Buck Safari, the latest incarnation of the game series, hitting at the end of March. Lo and behold, it’s the end of March, and here it is.
In the new version of the game, you’re traveling through “Deepest, darkest Africa*” hunting brand new animals. Where previously you would hunt everything from Caribou to Antelope, blasting squirrels and birds for bonus points, you’re now obliterating Gemsbok, Kudu, Sable, Cape Buffalo, and Wildebeest. For bonuses, you’re shooting Lions, Rhinos, Elephants, Panthers, Leopards, Giraffes, Zebras and Hippos.
Hey, even the worst player probably can’t miss an Elephant.
There’s also the (usually ridiculously hard) bonus rounds, which include Shrunken Head, Meerkat and the "Tarantula" Bonus. And a few new features, like changes in time of day, and weather.
You can pick up your own Big Buck Safari. Or, you know, wait for it to hit your local bar.
