I have a really pretentious theory that I’m going to share with you. My pretentious theory is that you can tell exactly what type of person someone is by how they play chess. I don’t think it’s that groundbreaking a theory, and given that I’m not a professional chess player, I’m not that great at my analysis. But often, you can play a game of chess, and how someone attacks the board is how they approach situations in their real life.
For example, and I’m being rather broad here, but someone who is tentative about approaching conflict in their lives might start by moving one of the pawns on the side out one square. However, someone who doesn’t worry about consequences will move their middle pawn out of the way, so they can immediately attack with their Queen. As for me? I think I’m way cleverer than I actually am, so I set up complicated strategies without seeing the basic flaw in my plan.
So that out of the way, I really don’t think of that psychology will come into play with the new Castle Giant Lego Chess Set. The set comes with hundreds of Lego pieces, so you can build your own chess set. It also includes 31 figurines, dragon heads, and lots of little things to snap on all over the place. Oh, and also, you can play chess with it.
Who has time for analysis, when you’re smashing knights and wizards into each other? The set comes out July 1st, just in time to give it as an Independence Day present.
