…Colored pebbles, apparently. According to the Secret of a Happy Relationship Game, at least. It’s not much of a game, to be honest. Basically, you have two boxes, right? And a bunch of colored stones. Each stone represents an emotion, and each time you have that emotion during the week, you take a stone, and place it in your box.
Then, at the end of the week, you open up your boxes, and talk about your stones.
Okay, so… I don’t want to be all negative up in here. Certainly, I imagine people have trouble expressing their emotions, even to their loved ones. But is this really the best way of expressing them? I have to imagine the physical act of boxing up your emotions, rather than expressing them at the time isn’t something that psychologists approve of.
Also, at least for me, I could imagine opening the box and:
A) Not remembering which color stood for which emotion.
B) What emotion I was having for what stone, and why.
I mean, come on, it’s been a week. I’m a busy guy.
So what do you guys think, am I wrong? Is this is a good way of connecting with your S.O.? Hey, worst case scenario, you have two nice boxes and some pretty colored stones. Stick a candle in ‘em!
