Scanner Emily's pathetic reason for living might soon see its end. Hasbro and Mattel, the manufacturers of the "real" Scrabble are trying to pull Scrabulous, the Facebook application that's almost exactly like the "real" Scrabble, down from the Internets.
The "real" Scrabble offers its own free version of the game online. Unfortunately for Hasbro and Mattel, Scrabulous beat them to getting it up on Facebook.
Also, ouch. When we googled "Scrabble online," the first hit was Scrabulous.
Honestly, we'd never heard of Scrabulous before Facebook and we have nothing against the real Scrabble. In fact, whoever created it was a fucking genius who has changed the lives of millions, if not billions, of people. But listen Hasbro and Mattel, if you succeed in your mission, you better make damn sure that you put your version up on Facebook pronto, or someone's getting a Deluxe board to the head. For serious.
Of course, all of this begs the question, which would you rather, Scrabble or Scrabulous?
