Last week, we brought you the story of the 20 or so drunk teenagers arrested at a party held to celebrate the life of a kid who died as the result of underage binge drinking.
We thought that was as low as anyone could go to dishonor the alcohol-related dead. Nope, this one tops it and goes way further down that highway to hell. Indeed, where do we start this one? With the revelation that the money to throw it came from the Students Against Drunk Driving fund? Or how about the fact that students attempted to cause accidents by launching bottles of liquor at passing cars? Or-- or--
In any case, those are the facts: a bunch of high school kids in Gore, New Zealand held a S.A.D.D. after party for the school's annual ball and woke up the next morning to realize they still had a ton of money left over. Why not throw a kickass second party, then, this time without anyone in authority hearing about it? And that's how it went-- until police showed up to find bottles all over a local playground, windows smashed out, thousands of dollars in damage to one of the halls, and reports of assaults.
The cops released a statement complaining that parents shouldn't be giving young people alcohol to take to parties, which is entirely laughable. Why did the kids need any alcohol-- where do you think the excess Students Against Drunk Driving money went to? Streamers and Hawaiian Punch?!
