Thursday will be Barack Obama's second full day in office. It is also the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in the United States. And according to "three Democratic sources" Obama is not going to let the day pass quietly.
According to CNN, Obama will most likely use the anniversary of Roe v. Wade to reverse a Ronald Reagan policy reinstated by Bush in 2001 that "prohibits U.S. money from funding international family planning groups that promote abortion or provide information, counseling or referrals about abortion services. It bans any organization receiving family planning funds from the U.S. Agency for International Development from offering abortions or abortion counseling." You may know the "Mexico City Policy" as "the Global Gag Rule."
Clinton reversed the policy shortly after taking office in 1993 and Bush, of course, reinstated it on the 28th anniversary of Roe v. Wade.
