What do you do when you’re caught with unregistered machine guns and silencers, and you’ve already had one felony conviction for selling the ol’ crack cocaine?
If you’re rapper/actor T.I., you make a sweet deal with MTV...
T.I. is set to star in a new reality show, which will “follow the hip-hop star as he performs more than 1,000 of community service before beginning to serve his one-year prison sentence next spring.”
Apparently they’ve already filmed his release from house arrest. and will now follow his every (?) move throughout the summer, up until he return to jail in ’09. We can only hope this includes “sittin pretty kno I'm shining dawg/ Ridin wid a couple latin brawds and a china doll.”
As Variety reports, “The Grammy winner, nicknamed ‘the King of the South’ for his Atlanta-influenced rhymes, was facing more than four years in jail when he managed to secure the plea deal (which also included a $100,000 fine).” Conveniently, T.I. decided to sell his soul to the reality television gods around that time.
The show will honor T.I. curfew of 1 a.m. if he’s working on a project…which seems pretty damn lenient. I guess that’s what a million-dollar fine will get you.
But then again, what you know about that?
