We don’t normally like “intelligence” mixed in with our reality shows. (What fun would Bret Michaels be if he stopped to think for a minute?) So we didn’t pay too much attention to the first four seasons of “television’s smartest reality show.” (Though our brother, who received a perfect score on the math section of his SATs, loved it.) And when we did tune it in, we just waited for a glimpse of the hot (and erudite) host…
That’s right: The Mole returns Monday night for the first time in four years! Sadly, ABC couldn’t convince Anderson Cooper to reprise his role as the delicious silver-fox host. (Don’t tell us we're the only ones who fell for his floppy locks on Channel One!)
If you’re not familiar, The Mole follows 12 contestants who travel the world, performing challenges and competing for a “substantial cash prize.” The squirrelly element? One of the twelve is a mole, i.e. a participant who looks and acts just like the rest of the group, but is actually there to sabotage everyone’s efforts.
I don’t know if it truly is “television’s smartest reality show” but it sure as hell is the show that most resembles Thanksgiving at my house...
Still wondering if it’s an intelligent show? Contestant Mark uses the word “dichotomy” in his lil’ speech. Though he also utters the phrase “the DL”…
